How do I register my domain name?
When you sign up for a web hosting account with us, we automatically send your domain registration information to the InterNIC. The process of registering a domain name can take anywhere between 1 to 7 days. Unfortunately, we have absolutely no control over how long it takes to register a domain name.
How do I transfer my domain name to your network?
We will get you started with the InterNIC's domain name transfer process as soon as you sign up. The current admin contact of your domain name will receive an e-mail from hostmaster@internic.net, which they will have to reply to. Please be sure that the message that the InterNIC sent is included in the reply and is the only text in the message. You must include the InterNIC's original message or the transfer will not occur.
How can I tell if my domain name has been registered?
Simply go to our domain search utility, and enter your domain name. Enter your domain name in the search box, and check the results.
My domain name has been registered, but why can't I access my web site or e-mail using my domain?
Most likely, your ISP has not updated their DNS cache. Most ISP's will update their DNS cache on a regular basis, so you should be able to access your site within a day or two. Give your ISP a call and ask them when the last and next time they will refresh their DNS cache.
Can I begin to upload my web site even though my domain name has not been registered yet?
Yes. You can begin to upload files as soon as your account is active on our network. Simply use your IP address as the hostname for your account until your domain name has been registered.
